Rapid Prototype Iterations Using 3D Printing and CNC Machining
Entrepreneur and former elite speed skater Brent Aussprung tells us how he used the range of Xometry’s manufacturing technologies to quickly build successive prototypes for his company’s launch product.
“I was an elite speed skater — Top 10 in the world in 2009.
My startup company, Dynamic Skate Technology, is in its adolescence phase but it’s very exciting. We have a patented technology that we believe will revolutionize the Olympic sport of speed skating.
Although a small market, Dynamic Skate Technology has tremendous passion for the sport and we are focused on lending our expertise in order to advance the sport to new heights. Our product development started roughly 3 years ago, in which we have used many manufacturing processes to build countless prototypes while we try to perfect our product.
We have utilized manufacturing processes, all of which are offered by Xometry, such as subtractive (e.g., CNC machining, etc.) to additive (DMLS, 3D Printed Nylon, ABS, etc.) manufacturing processes.
As our product is nearing its launch date, Xometry has even been helpful in acquiring volume pricing quotes, which in turn has assisted us in setting a price point for our product. Thanks Xometry, I look forward to continuing to do business!”
